PM 2012 will be hosted by the University of Perugia from 16 to 18 may 2012.
PM 2010 conference was the fourth Italian conference after the events in Milan (2004), Florence (2006) and Bari (2008).
PM2010 was held in Venice, the capital of a region, the Veneto, increasingly central to the interests of the scientific community that studies the phenomena related to airborne particulate. The articulation of the phenomena that affect our country (road traffic, impacts resulting from industrial activities and port facilities, transport phenomena, cross-border impact of nanotechnology, etc ...) are a paradigm for the topics of the conference now considered a required meeting by the multidisciplinary Italian scientific community that studies the many aspects that relate to the aerosol.
The initiative, however, is not addressed only to scientists and specialists, but also to the authorities responsible for monitoring air quality, legislators, local administrators, companies that develop technology for the abatement and control, and generally to anyone has an interest in this area.
The conference stands as a moment of confrontation between different scientific communities (biologists, chemists, physicists, engineers, doctors, statisticians), for the definition of a common address programming related to the international community, aimed at the correct interpretation of the phenomena and to support intervention strategies and management of environmental and health emergencies by decision-makers.
Particular emphasis is placed on the proper dissemination of scientific message to be delivered to the civil community to foster the interest and involvement of the media.
