About us

The Society is for researchers, professionals, and students with a passionate interest, personal or professional, in the science of atmospheric aerosols, for people who believe that an exchange of information and experiences is the way to enhance individual and professional growth and a necessary condition for scientific progress within our community.

We are also convinced that the complex field of atmospheric aerosols, with important scientific, health, and environmental implications (and therefore economic and social as well), requires contributions from the many diverse areas of expertise that represent "all the souls in the world of particulate matter".

Second School of the Italian Aerosol Society IAS - Rimini, June 10 - 15 2013

The Italian Aerosols Society (IAS) organizes its second training school aimed at students, researchers and practitioners in the field of atmospheric aerosols. The School will run for 5 days with 40 hours of lessons and a program that, after an introduction on basic skills, will examine two issues closely related and highly relevant: the numerical modelling to simulate the dispersion of pollutants in the atmosphere and source apportionment by receptor models. Teachers are Italian researchers active in the field. The school address is: Arpa, Sezione di Rimini, via Settembrini 17/d - 47921 Rimini (RN).

This summer school gives an introduction to all relevant fields of aerosol science. Besides lectures there will be assignments, discussions, and demonstration experiments. The instructors are European leading experts in the field.
